The portrait procedure begins with a telephone or in person discussion of what the client desires.  This discussion will cover concerns such as the size and where the painting will hang, the mood and personality of the person being painted and the fees.   If you have photos you particularly like they can be evaluated as potential reference material.  More often than not, a photo session will be scheduled.  After I have chosen several photos that I feel would represent the client’s intentions and the sitter’s personality, we meet to choose a pose for the portrait.  With your approval, I will paint the portrait in the studio.  An estimated date of completion is given which is usually 3-10 months after the portrait is started.  Upon delivery, you may make suggestions for minor corrections or changes. 

Portrait fees start at $350 and increase according to size and complexity.  All fees will be developed in the style of a written quote.  One half of the fee is due at the time the portrait contract is written and the balance is due upon completion and acceptance. 

Travel, lodging, framing, shipping and applicable taxes are in addition to the quoted fee for the portrait.
